Dr. Jennifer Andrew Research Talk
Thank you to everybody who came out to our third GBM today to attend Dr. Andrew's engaging research presentation! Dr. Andrew is an assistant professor in the UF Materials Science and Engineering Department. She received her B.S. from Northwestern University, her PhD from UC Santa Barbara, and did her postdoc at UC San Diego.

Active Member Status
SFB would like to implement requirements an “active member” status. Active membership would be optional and would include benefits such as eligibility to attend the SFB National Conference and priority for spots on industry tours and industry info sessions. Requirements would include attending at least 4 meetings and 2 events per semester and becoming a member of the SFB National Chapter. To implement this policy, we will vote to amend our constitution at the next meeting (11/28/17). Please attend the meeting to have your vote heard.
SFB Charity Kickball Tournament Postponed
The SFB Charity Kickball Tournament which was supposed to be held this Saturday (11/11/17) will be postponed until the spring semester. Be on the lookout for the new date of the event.

The Society for Biomaterials National Conference will take place 4/11/18 - 4/14/18 in Atlanta, GA. This is a great opportunity to present student research and network with students and professionals in the biomaterials community. We encourage our members to attend and are offering to fund several students to attend. Preference will be given to active members who will be presenting at the conference. To be considered for funding to the conference, fill out the form below.
